Privacy, in plain words
What “uploaded” normally means. On most online converters, pressing the button copies your file across the internet onto a computer owned by that website. That copy is what the word “upload” means, and it is the part nobody explains.
What happens instead. This site does not do it. There is no server here that receives files, so your WOFF file is read, converted and handed back by the browser you are using right now. It never travels — so there is no copy to store, read, leak or hand over.

A font is licensed rather than owned, and the licence usually says something specific about copies. It matters more than it sounds, because of what font files usually are:

where redistribution is a contract breach

drawn for one company and not released

held by you under an agreement with somebody else
Unreleased type designs
a designer's work before it goes on sale
A file that is never sent cannot be kept, leaked, subpoenaed or used to train anything. That is a property of how this works, not a promise about how carefully it is run.
WOFF wraps a TrueType or OpenType font with compression and metadata, specifically for delivery over the web.
TrueType describes glyph outlines with quadratic curves and includes hinting instructions that improve rendering at small sizes on low-resolution screens.
The two formats solve different problems, which is why converting between them involves trade-offs rather than a straight upgrade.

People make this switch when they run into the limits of WOFF: modern sites — WOFF2 is smaller and universally supported. TTF is the better fit when installing a font on a computer or using it in design software.
Both formats store the content without discarding data, so this conversion preserves it exactly. The file size may change because the two formats compress differently, but the content itself is unaffected.
The TTF came out 2.0× larger than the file that went in.
