DOCX and Markdown explained

DOCX is a ZIP archive containing XML that describes a Word document's content and formatting. Renaming one to .zip and opening it shows the structure directly.

Markdown is plain text with lightweight conventions — hashes for headings, asterisks for emphasis — that stays readable as written while converting cleanly to HTML.
